XchangeArt is a project welcome to all. The possibilities are endless, and each participant is encouraged to be as creative as they can. The basic ideas are:
1. Connecting with another person or group.
2. Listen to their story, and share your own.
3. Create a work of art of an endangered species inspired by the story your partner shares. This could be through a painting, sculpture, music, poetry, dance, song. The theme is “vanishing,” but it could apply to you in a way that is symbolic/personal. Vanishing endangered species, vanishing culture, vanishing outmoded concepts., etc.
4. Create change through art, and break down perceived barriers to connect.
5. We encourage partnerships between individuals of different backgrounds, beliefs and political views.
Join the Global Animal Art Army for Good. These animals will be posted on IG (and on a map of the world on our website). Links to your various stories and/or causes will be attached.
It is inspired by my own Vanishing Murals project, and ongoing participation in the Collective Action Against Racism & Inequality (CAARI) - an initiative created by the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County.
